For any minister faced with pastoring today's youth and young adults can be daunting . Fathering a fatherless generation is challenging yet rewarding. This book addresses the following aspects of this vital ministry in todays ever changing church.

Emphasis on Spiritual fathering (parenting); This highlights the importance of spiritual mentorship and fatherly guidance especially for the new Christian in the discipling ministry. There is an emphasis on God the Father's love and presence as a Father, friend and parent.

Address Emotional Needs: it is vital that those in ministry recognise the immediate emotional needs and emotional scars and voids that fatherlessness can create. How does the pastor offer emotional support to the fatherless in his congregation?

Foster Community: Create a sense of belonging and family within the congregation, encouraging mentorship connection among members.

Provide Positive Role Models: the correct pairing of individuals with male and female mentors is a function of the Holy Spirit. Guidance and support is ensured over extended time periods.

Teach Healthy Relationships: Education through mentors deals with communication skills, conflict resolution to help break cycles of dysfunction with the family unit and society in general.

Promote Forgiveness and Healing: encourage individuals to confront and resolve unforgiveness and pain related to fatherlessness within the home and and within the church.

Develop Targeted Programs: church leadership must consider the support of single parents, youth at risk, men's and women's ministries to address specific needs related to fatherlessness and dysfunctional families and upbringing.

Pastoring a Fatherless Generation requires compassion, healing, spiritual parenting as well as measurable growth in the person being mentored.
